Osteopathy

What is osteopathy?

Osteopathy is a recognized manual profession in Denmark that can be understood as a manual alternative to classical medicine.

The osteopath examines and treats with his hands. He uses, among other things, his in-depth knowledge of anatomy, physiology, neurology, biomechanics and disease theory to uncover connections in patients,

which will hopefully help him move beyond just treating symptoms.

This is not just about problems with the musculoskeletal system, but in principle all physical symptoms. There are three main fields of osteopathy:

- parietal Osteopathie

- visceral osteopathy

- Craniosacral Osteopathie

the treatment of the musculoskeletal system

As a branch of osteopathy, parietal osteopathy deals with the bony structures of the body, its joints and the soft tissue structures such as tendons, ligaments, cartilage structures and fascia. Together, these structures form the body's muscular support system.

the treatment of internal organs

This branch of osteopathy uses general and special techniques to treat the internal organs with their fascia, vessels and nerve structures.

the treatment of the whole organism

Another sub-area of osteopathy is that of the craniosacral system, where the rhythmic pulsations of the cerebospinal fluid (brain and spinal fluid) are felt and treated.
